Tonight friends its another of those childhood lovelies that marked the arrival of Christmas. Its one of those movies that teaches us that its all about the giving and that everyone has some good in them. It was probably my second favorite Dr. Seuss book when I was a youngish child and I looked forward to watching the special every year. It’s a short, barely long enough to be classified as a movie, Christmas movie. Lets get to it.
In the town of Whoville live the Whos, a happy bunch of people that just love everything. Up in the mountains there lives the Grinch and he’s the kinda guy that wants everyone to be just as unhappy as he is. He gets irritated by the joyous sounds of the Whos preparing to celebrate Christmas and decides to take it from them. After The Grinch steals the roast beast, all the gifts and decorations and leaves the Whos with nothing on Christmas morning, he’s surprised that they still sing and rejoice in being alive and amongst friends and family. You know the rest, his heart grows three sizes, he returns everything and they forgive and accept his green ass.
Its another classic thats stuck with us through the years. It features Boris Karloff as the narrator as well as the voice of The Grinch and Tony The Tiger sings “You’re a Mean One, Mr. grinch. It been one of my favorites since I was a kid and thats why, Dr. Seuss’ How The Grinch Stole Christmas gets a ranking of: Maybe Christmas, Perhaps… Means A Little Bit More.
