Another animated classic from my childhood that I looked forward to every year was A Charlie Brown Christmas. It was one of my favorite comic strips brought to life and its broadcast usually meant we were one day closer to Christmas morning. I remember watching it at my grandparents, curled on the couch, hot chocolate close at hand. Every year I kept my fingers crossed that good ole Charlie Brown would drop kick Lucy but every year she pulled the ball away and he landed on his back. If you’ve never given it a watch, heres the lowdown…

Christmas has come around again and Charlie Brown is feeling low, everyone is caught up in the commercialism of the holiday and it’s lost its meaning for him. His friends are caught up in presents and cards, decorations and letters to Santa and he is given the task of choosing the tree for the Christmas pageant, so of course being Chuck he picks out the saddest little tree he can find. The kids make fun of it but after a speech from Linus all is well and Charlie Browns faith in humanity and Christmas is restored and they can all get back to dancing.

Its another of those Christmas stories with an underlying message and that message is, do not trust girls to hold the football. Clocking in at a mere twenty-five minutes it barely qualifies as a movie but does qualify as a christmas classic and thats why A Charlie Brown Christmas gets a ranking of: Four Pipers Pipping. Till next time friends, stay entertained.
